Description

This is more of a hockey trade than a TDL trade, BUT SJS should maximize their assets which could very well happen at the TDL vs over the summer.

Thoughts? Add more? Less? Wrong target from SJS perspective? What else would it take?

Well at least with Kane and Toews contracts expiring, CHI could afford that terrible QO awaiting on Meier.

This isn't bad from a value perspective but if the Sharks are trading Meier, we're likely committing to a rebuild. So in that case we'd rather the Hawks just keep Strome, and trade away small quantity of high quality prospects and picks back instead. A 1st+ prospects is a good start but I'm not exactly sure what prospects exactly since I'm not an expert on Chicago's pool.

SJ probably declines, can't see Meier being moved unless its for picks.

Pass. If Meier goes it should be pure prospects, not downgrades on still decent players

Fair enough. Pretty consistent message here. From the Hawks perspective Strome fits. We think he has value, but the Hawks honestly have too many centers even with both Toews and Dach out. That's why he's in the trade. If the Hawks increase the pick/prospects...and SJS is rebuilding like this trade KINDA signals...would you be willing to retain?

Retaining on 3 years would cost a lot, and Meier is not a bad deal at all. I dont think you can start a Meier talk without Reichel anyways so you would need to be okay with that before we talk retention.

Ehhh just not what we need. I like Nylander and Krutil would help our RD pool but realistically there's nothing coming back to us (even with Vlasic) that is likely to be a high end talent to replace Meier. 1st, good prospect(s) etc. would still be my asking price.

I like Strome. If Chicago added a first (and took out Krutil), I think I'd do this deal.
