My thoughts too but I’m biased cause I prolly overrate our prospectors a bit/have an east coast bias and wanted another perspective

I wonder if SJS will sell before the deadline. Their GM has always been in win now mode

They’re in such a bad spot with their terrible contracts I feel for their fans that’s gonna be a long rebuild

For sure - so many of their contracts are buyout proof (like ladds)

Good start but I would probably want more value here. Skarek isn't a good prospect, so no real need for him. I like Wilde, so that's a solid add. You're gonna have to help me with Bellows because I don't see anything special there statistically, but I also haven't watched him at all. @Isles777 mentioned Simon Holmstrom and that would probably be a difference maker to be honest.

My ideal counter would be Wilde, Holmstrom, 2021 2nd (COL), 2022 1st (NYI). Might be overkill but let me know.

Bellows is easily a top 6 winger as long as he’s with a passing center to get him the puck. Isles coaches told him not to worry about points in the AHL which is why his numbers aren’t anything special. Isles not the best at developing forwards...

Holmstrom has a high floor. Probably ends up as a Gustav nyqvist kind of player. Good 2nd line winger , great passer.

Bellows was more of a throw in since he doesn’t have a spot on the isles and won’t- he’s got talent but won’t get a shot here cause he’s not very defensive and now an older prospect very boom or bust.. I’d probably try to top 3 protect the 1 but wouldn’t be make or break to me assuming it happens at the TDL I’d take that deal

Bellows is going to have a carter verhaeghe impact when he leaves the isles lol - I think we just tanked his value trying to make him into something he’s not

Gotcha that makes sense regarding Bellows. Probably would pass on him just cause we have quite a few guys similar to that but wouldn't be a terrible add either way. Don't think the Isles will have a bad year in '22 - especially with a play driver like Timo on that team. But I don't think a top-3 protection would be a deal breaker either.

I personally wouldn't do the trade save for a grade-A prospect coming back for Meier. Sharks have actually a decent amount of decent young players/prospects. They severely lack in blue-chip prospects like a Dobson Wahlstrom or Sorokin. Any of those 3 plus a 1st gets it done.

Thanks for admitting you have a biased opinion it makes your thought much more reasonable and understandable.
Given the sharks lack of depth and talent I want to counter offer
Meir for
Okoposo
2021 1st
2022 1st
Holmstrom

The salary evens out you get rid of a cap issue get a top 6 stud and we get enough to start our rebuild.

That’s a lot but the 22 2nd is upgraded for the cap dump.

I just don’t see a single one of them getting traded and I get that if that’s what y’all want there just wouldn’t be a fit here tbh

Assuming you meant Ladd instead of okposo since he’s on the Sabres but I’d do this on the spot I’d guess isles would have to throw in more to take back salary tho

It's middling quantity for quality, exactly the trade the Sharks should avoid. If I am SJ, I'd look for something like Meier for Wahlstrom + first.

I would trade bolduc without hesitation. I personally think he’s overrated.
