The Canes fan recommendation for Keller was already too high and now it is worse. Pass from this Canes fan. Way too much for a guy who has scored 60 once.

Canes IMO accept. Skjei/Foegele/Bokk/Suzuki/1st are all good pieces and probably make Arizona better in the future, but Keller is currently the best player of the bunch. Players like him are why you build upper-echelon farm systems.

A lot of Keller's relatively low offensive numbers are about the team that he plays for. They don't have a lot of premium offensive pieces outside of him to take attention away from him. IMO that package is a buy-low.

It’s a chips on the table all in move. The only guys you’re losing on the active roster are a guy you are exposing in expansion anyway and a guy who’s being pushed down the depth chart by acquiring Keller anyway

Skjei, Bokk, and the 1st seem like the way to go here. Skjei is a good add for ARI and moves a good chunk of salary, Bokk COULD hit and be stupid good, and the 1st will let them pick the next Mitch Miller. That’s a good package for a guy on a big contract that hasn’t put it all together.

yea that sounds nice until you throwing 2 NHLers, a first rounder, and two high prospects on the table. It aint worth it hoping his low production is only because of Arizona.

Would you guys trade Martin Necas for Goligoski Jenik and a 1st? If your answer is no then you have your answer for that proposal

Martin Necas is on a similar trajectory but is only getting paid 800k as opposed to 7 mil, Skjei is 7 years younger than Goligoski so I don’t think this is apples to apples. I’m willing to haggle between Suzuki and Bokk but cap has to go the other way and Skjei is still a serviceable D man, if a tad overpaid.

My point is if the coyotes are gonna trade Keller they shouldn’t just do it for a first and a “maybe” prospect. Needs to be something worthwhile coming back. So if Bokk a first and cap filler is best they can do then coyotes pass

That’s fair, his cap hit is gonna drive the return down in this environment. If the yotes want to win though, you don’t think about trading a guy like Keller. I know this came from the Athletic board and the best logic they could come up with is that this is the best way to get good picks back and he gets paid more over time. Pretty fluffy to me.
