Detroit says no. The 2nd is nice but not interested in 2023 draft. 2021 or 2022 picks only.

You’re dreaming if you think Malkin ever waives his NMC or that Pittsburgh ownership will ever agree to trade him.

Other than that Columbus might accept, depends on if they think they are getting the Malkin of 2 years ago who can be dominate or the over the hill Malkin who might retire in 2 years

Malkin in Columbus... he might retire before the public finds out about the trade.

Wings accept

No we don't. This is a 2023 draft pick. Wings would like to be competitive again sooner than later. 2021 or 2022 picks only. But if we're going to accept a 2023 draft pick we need a better player than Jankowski coming back. A near NHL ready prospect + a 2023 2nd would be a yes. But unfortunately (but actually not unfortunately because I can't wait to watch Pittsburgh crash and burn after Crosby and Malkin retire) is that Pittsburgh's prospect cupboard is scary empty. They'll be worse than the current Wings.

My bad though it was 2021, I agree with you. 2021 or 2022 only

Nyquist, Domi, and a conditional 1st that’s top 10 protected for Malkin.
Malkin is coming off a year where he was like 7th in scoring and over a ppg. He always gets off to slow starts. Domi is having a crap year himself and has only had 1 solid year and still wasn’t even a PPG player that year. And Nyquist has been on IR all year. But both of those players are 40-55 point players max. Geno has been able to do more than that in a shortened season.

Meh...not necessarily. I mean the complimentary pieces we have are mostly young. I mean Marino and POJ look like they will be studs and 1st pair of the future. MP, McCann, Kapanen, Guentzel, ZAR, Blueger are all 26 and under. Plus they have a few good prospects that will likely be good top 9 contributors in Poulin and Legare for sure. Then add Lee, Maniscalco, Reilly, Angello, O’Connor, Lafferty should be staples on the bottom 6 and bottom pair Dmen. They will likely suck for a few years but if they can get a number 1 pick at the right time, they should be ok. All really depends on draft lotto luck. They’ve just done real well with mid-late round picks and college free agents. I mean it didn’t look like Guentzel, Blueger, or Rust were going to be anything special and they turned into solid top 6-top9 pieces. And Marino didn’t look like anything special either until they get him for a 6th and got him into real game experience.

Oh how you remind me of myself, a Wings fan, around 2013....Guentzel, McCann, Kapanen...all these guys when Crosby and Malkin finally hang em up will in their 30's and on the decline, which will come faster once two of the best players on the planet aren't around feeding them pucks anymore. You Samuel Poulin right now. a good prospect, but he ain't gonna be your saviour. No more than Dylan Larkin could save the Wings alone.

I mean this core only has 2 years left. I wouldn’t doubt that Malkin goes back to russia after this contract and Letang might not be back either
