Edmonton's weakness right now is at 3 and 4C so I doubt they trade Haas.

I have a hard time believing Boston trade Debrusk. You Might get Bjork and some more picks.

If NSH retains $2m on Forsberg, I'd be asking for Newhook -- he would be the player NSH targets from COL regardless.

I like the idea of Timmons and Kaut but yes you try to get Newhook. They can afford to lose a offensive prospect the pipeline is deep.

Couple things on the boston trade.
1. Well, value. Not good.
2. Your assertion about debrusk is kind of a, “oh hey look at hockeydb. Only four points. Must be playing horrible,” kinda take. He’s been playing fine. Shooting a good amount. Pretty snakebit. There was one of those goofy ones that was definitely a goal but the camera just couldn’t quite get that definitive look. Posts here and there. I don’t think his shooting percentage is going to stick at 3%, do you?
3. Bruins can’t trade for a d man with term. Creates a expansion draft nightmare for them.
Thanks, but no thanks. Maybe revisit after the expansion draft.

The only deal I think needs some restructure is the Forsberg deal. All others i would have minor changes or outright accept all.

I understand wanting newhook, but colorado can't trade newhook for a winger who might not even be able to be resigned in a year. He's going to be 2C next year at the rate kadri is slowing down and for the upgrade forsberg would be on our top 6, which isn't that weak right now, it isn't worth the downgrade at center.

I understand Newhook is highly rated but the chance to have a player like Forsberg to play with Mack, Mikko and Landeskog for 2 years would be too good to pass up because that is 2 cup runs and adding a player like Fil easily makes them the favorites for the cup.

If the price is newhook i think you just get a rental like hall or someone for a year to not pay as much. Odds are whoever they bring in will be 2nd line since bednar loves landy mack and rants togther. So no point in giving our top prospect and 2C next year for a 2wing for a year and a half

They can ask all they want they isn’t happening. Only way Newhook gets moved is if a high end center is coming back.

That’s totally fair. I just don’t see NSH retaining that kind of salary without an A prospect coming back in the deal. Kaut doesn’t have that high of a ceiling and NSH needs offense more than defense (I do like the inclusion of Timmins though)

I agree with you on the retention. Here is my take on Kaut, high floor, ceiling depends on who he plays with. He mirrors the guys who play with him, if they grind he grinds, if they are skilled he shows skill. I think he is a 20 goal greasy guy, his game isn’t sexy. But yeah NSH isn’t wants someone probably flashier

Respectfully pass on Haula. He's really not much better than Barabanov (if at all) and costs more. Leafs are looking for someone to play in the Top-6 and Haula just doesn't fit that need.
