Isn't Kucherov out for the year...?

Not trading Konecny, Farabee, Myers (plus retained salary!?), and Brink for an injured Kucherov, a cap dump, and Volkov. Our RD is already weak enough as it is, they aren't trading Myers away without a RD coming back.

Kucherov may be injured, but you gotta assume that he'll be back to his top 5 offensive talent in the playoffs and certainly over the next 6 seasons he's under contract. Oh and I added Rutta, so you get an RD back

Not making any assumptions on a trade like that, Flyers might not make it to the playoffs with the amount of pieces going to Tampa. Then there is the cap... $17.7 million to the Flyers (including your salary retention) and $7.75 million to Tampa. Flyers need to re-sign Hart, Sanheim, Patrick, Laughton, and other complimentary pieces, they would be at negative cap space with a healthy Kucherov. While any team would love to have a healthy Kucherov on their team the Flyers are not a fit with their current cap.

On cap basis alone the Flyers can't do this. And then there is giving up 3 excellent roster pieces for Kucherov, a cap dump, a bottom 6 player (flyers have plenty in the pipeline that can do this) and a 3rd pairing D man.

Yes that is mostly correct except that Rutta is more than a bottom pairing guy, and you may be forgetting that Kucherov is undoubtedly a top 10 player and maybe a top 5 player in the league. And Johnson may have a bad contract, but he is a solid middle 6 forward.
