Honestly way too much for both. Meier + Hertl is plenty to get Eichel IMO.

Eichel doesn't want to go to another rebuilding club especially one with multiple boat anchor contracts.

SJ has the pieces to be serious contenders basically instantaneously with Eichel, even if they give up both Meier and Hertl (I think they could offer 1 of the two and get a deal done with picks/prospects). BUF doesn't.

Why would we want either Donato or Gregor? We need help at RW and RD. That's aside from the fact that we probably won't be interested in a 2022 pick.

Virtually every offer for Eichel from Los Angeles, Montreal, and the New York Rangers features much (much) better packages than this. For example, the last NYR post I recall seeing offered Kakko, Buchnevich and their 2021 first in addition to other parts.

You think thats better? Kakko is a big question mark for a starting piece, Buch is a meh third liner. Meier and Hertl could each get a top prospect and a first

One problem I see as fan of neither team is Buffalo only gets 1-full year of Hertl.
If they are rebuilding, I'd think they want the main piece coming back to stick around a while.
If teams are offering Suzuki, Vilardi, Rossi, etc...I don't think SJS has the pieces to compete
