1. That is a massive overpayment.
2. You don’t want him trust me I watched him in Nashville his entire career.
3. If you want him for a physical presence you will regret that decision.

A terrible 4th liner. You can find a better player foe free on waivers 3x a week

totally agree on the physicality part watching him this year, has to be the least physical "physical" player ive seen in a bit. has played pretty well though this year to be fair to him, plays the PK pretty good, is not much more than a 4th liner and this is a definite overpay, but after the game ive never found myself thinking he was a problem (for now)

Have you watched any of his gameplay this year? He's been great in Ottawa and consistently so despite being on a team that is anything but that. There are exactly zero players on the waiver wire who can do what he's been doing this year. But please, name one of the three players on this weeks waiver wire who are better lol

Edit: This does still feel like an overpay. The flip side to that is retaining 500k for the next 3 years does increase the value of the player.

I was big on Watty when he came into the organization but he was a massive let down. He would have his moments of being a really good player but like we said the man can’t be physical. If he was to get in a fight with a 12 year old blind girl scout my moneys on the girl scout

yeah hes had his spurts of showing some skill/ability but hes pretty much just a system guy who fits well in ottawa imo. Is good at finishing his checks on the forechek (everyone can do that) but thats about as physical as he gets

So the answer is no, you haven’t seen him play this year. And no, you can’t name three players. Not exactly what I’d call standing by your comment but aight lol

Nope, see i have watched him
Clearly you havent watched him. And if you cant look at the waivers list for yourself and see all the significantly better players that would be free, well im not going to help you out.
You keep lusting over a guy who is replacement level on his best day

Nope, you havent watched him. If you dont think guys like literally dozens of names that have been waived this year are better than a terrible 4th liner cause reasons, well thats on you.

Again, you won’t name them because you can’t. There aren’t 3/week let alone 3 for the year. The only players that have come close since the start of the season on the wire are Derek Ryan (a non factor) and Brett Connolly (overpaid at 3.5m).

Again, i wont name them because im not doing your homework for you. And if Connolly is overpaid, watson ia drastically over paid

Brett Connolly has 3 points in 16 games making 3.5 million.
Austin Watson has 7 points in 24 games making 1.5 million.

You can’t seriously be trying to say that Connolly is better... think you’re the only one against doing homework lol

He is. Literally his entire career shows he is and the fact that you think 4 more points in 8 more games means otherwise says something about your homework

Again, you said you haven't watched him this year. He has 3 in 16 but you think he'd get 4 in his next 8? Lol if Connolly could score 4 points every 8 games his 3.5 million dollar contract wouldn't have been on waivers.

Just say you waiver wire claim was cap and move on.

No, i said you haven't watched him. Because if you had youd known how bad he is.
4 in 8 is something literally every nhl player can do, thats why it's a meaningless distinction.
It was a cap move, but that doesn't mean he's not better than watson. Lots of better players have been waived this year for cap reaslns and thats the point.
If watson was waived for cap reasons 30 teams would pass on him too. Especially the leafs

JaredofLondon just chirps. His only comments on here are " he's terrible, he can't play, or you don;t watch the games "
Your wasting your time on comments with him.
