Ehh, think BUF would be better off by just keeping Eichel and Skinner.

Can't see them retaining no more than 25% of that contract. $2,25M for 7 years is a very hefty price wasted for nothing.

I get what ur saying but in Buffalo Skinner has turned into a player who is a 4th liner or scratched. He needs a huge change of scenery bit for that to happen Buffalo is gonna have to retain a lot

He needs a new coach. He turned out bad because Krueger can't utilize him in the slightest for some reason.

I guess time will tell, but all in all its hard to imagine taking on Skinner without a good amount of retention

Indeed. For instance, EDM only retained 12.5% of Lucic's contract. I doubled the amount.

Yea but Edmonton is trying to conted, if Buffalo makes this trade they are going to rebuilding for at least 4 more years so you woul have to assume that the salary retention wouldn't eba problem

Funny thing to say since after the EDM trade only CGY, the team that got Lucic in the exchange, has managed to make the playoffs.

BUF has been out of playoffs for 9 years in a row. I don't think that's changing, with or without Eichel in the team.

I didn't say they were doing it well I said they were trying to contend. Also if they are going to rebuild than I dont think they should be worried about retaining salary

For their sake I hope that rebuild won't last 6 more years lol.

Honestly don't see any reality where Sabres would retain the guy for more than 25% or $2,25M. Anything above this is far excessive.

Yea i honestly feel bad for Buffalo, but its hard to imagine them completing a rebuild in less than 5 years even if they keep Eichel. But unless Skinner plays a little better more retention is gonna be needed
