Why are you trading away decent parts of the weakest prospect pool in the league to trade for a cap dump? Virtanen is essentially Galchenyuk 2.0, and I’m sure you’re well aware of how that turned out for Pittsburgh.

I mean Bjorkqvist is expendable. I don’t see him having a future here and ever making the nhl being so far down the depth chart. As a LW he is currently behind Guentzel, Zucker, McCann, ZAR/Tanev, O’Connor, Poulin at the very least. And I might put some other prospects ahead of him too

I don't understand what is Pittsburgh fascination with Virtanen, he is not a gritty PWF, just a big kid with no toughness, has the tools but no toolbox, he is not responsible defensively, doesn't take playing in the NHL seriously either, he just likes getting paid the NHL salary and partying.

I think they view him as a Josh Anderson type. I agree I don't think he is.
But I do think he can next 20 goals and get a net front guy. He's also willing to hit people.

As a Canucks fan I have yet to see Virtanen play like Josh Anderson, he barely hits and shy's away from contact. He does not play that physical style of game, VAN was hoping he could have turned out to be a physical PWF but I don't think its going to happen.

This year he's averaging 2 a game that isn't bad.
He has the potential to score goals, he has 18 last year.
I think people are down on him, but I think he's injured to be honest.
People did the same think to JA last year. Oh he's done, washed, not worth that....well wrong he was just hurt.

That's fine. VAN is show casing him for deal any way, he has already been replaced by MacEwen who plays the physical PWF role much better and isn't afraid of contact. MacEwen is more JA then Virtanen to be honest.
