Oleksiak

Created by: Shane_Kelly
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 3, 2021
Published: Mar. 3, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Say the Stars continue their poor injury luck and continue to lose, who could be made available? I feel someone like Oleksiak who is destined for the FA Market could be an easy piece to move. He played well in the playoffs last year and adds great size and depth to any teams backened. So what would be the price?

I feel like his value isn't that high, but the stars can kind of pin some teams against each other to raise the price

Never should’ve signed JJ when we had a left side of

    Dumo-Maatta-Jamie

    you could have put out
Random street guy- Random street guy - random street guy
and we still shouldn't have signed JJ.

But that ship has sailed, they made all kind of bad moves.
Jamie was gone though when he was having issues with JR. We know why JR paid him...he didn't want to partake and fill his role. That **** was never going to fly because he wasn't really there to play hockey.
Jamie on the other hand liked to believe he was. I don't blame the guy for it, but it is what it is. He should have asked for a trade long before it ever escalated.

I have noted in the past that Oleksiak would be one of my top targets for a rental dman. I think his value is higher than one might assume though, I think his play in the playoffs last season absolutely increased his value to maybe a 2nd round-3rd round pick.

That being said, I have a feeling Dallas prefers to keep him. Playing the whole year without guys like Tyler Seguin and Ben Bishop definitely hurts Dallas, they may refer to this season as a fluke year

They have said (as i have said time and time again), that they DO NOT want to move on from their young dmen yet! THey dont! Their defense (aside from those two games last week) has been very good over the course of this year. But its their offense that has been struggling
I can say it as many times as I need to, I just wish people would start listening lol

Well, I am aware that they do not want to, but I thought you had some "insider knowledge" on Oleksiak. So no need for the "snarky" comment again If they didn't trust their young man something would have been done in the offseason. Now that being said, this dcore isn't gonna win you cup.

    What "Snarky" comment?
I said "Bruins dont want Oleksiak, and the price for a rental dman like that is a 2nd tops and thats just so im not called a Homer again and again and again",
Zero part of that is snarky lol. and the homer part at the end is just true lol i get called a homer for calling debrusk a top 6 forward

And exactly, if they wanted a top 4 LHD they would gotten one.

Also for your info, bruins are top 10 (maybe even top 5) in goals allowed per game so defense isnt the problem

And adding Oleksiak to this D core still won't win you the cup. Once the Bruins get through the expansion draft their D will be the foundation of this team going forward. Stick with youth.

If you can bring on a rental who has playoff experience whose even minimally better than ether Lauzon/Zboril it definitely improves their chances, maybe not by much but it helps. Not saying the kids cant get it done but its a harmless move that doesn't effect the expansion draft with Oleksiak being a rental. I haven't watched him play much so idk if he's better than one of Lauzon/Zboril but a rental LHD is definitely an avenue the Bruins should explore IF they dont want to screw with anything for the expansion draft

Only if it costs them next to nothing.
