Which trade is the most fair

Created by: Sabres_Insider
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 3, 2021
Published: Mar. 3, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think these teams are willing to give up dencent value for eichel

Maybe its a over payment, but Eichel is a top 10 centre and he has 5/6 years left on his contract

He was 10th in points last season. Teams know what their getting in eichel. If it become competitive, teams may overpay

I would take a package from Montreal and why do you need Drouin? Better to get an extra first in 2022 and prospect. Suzuki is already top 6 C and is still young. Other teams do not offer such a center.

MTL will keep it's asset and let them grow instead of getting one player at 10M whose combine points and impact on the game is and will be lower than the asset MTL is sending for around the same caphit.

I know Eichel is worth a lot, but no team will give that many assets for 1 player. Look at comparable of big trades with stars like Thornton, Kovalchuk, Séguin, Patrick Roy, Gretzky, Kessel, Pacioretty... none of them where sold for such a fortune.

BUF is also in a position where the player is unhappy and wants out. Nobody is going to offer the moon for him.

Mn is not giving up fiala. So Sabre’s fans can stop adding him into their eichel trades. Change fiala to beckman and there ya go

I think Marat and Rossi could become good 1-2 in the middle. More risk with MIN, but more upside.
Adding Fiala or Boldy...and that's your future top-six (with Cozens, Reinhart, Quinn)
Could also flip Dumba for nice package if going full rebuild.

Philly offer similar...Patrick-Frost at C and Konecny at wing
Best offer if you want to compete sooner.

My problem with MTL package is could end up being just two impact guys in Suzuki and Caufield.

And I'd hold out for either Fox or Laf with Rangers, even if it means fewer players back.

      I like the side-by-sides
Wish trade options were presented more often this way

Montreal is giving up the best young player out of all of these in Suzuki, also while giving up the best prospect in Caufield, while still adding a young top 6 forward and multiple picks. Think its the best one for Eichle out of all of these since Buffalo essentially gets everything could want in an Eichle trade.

so would u take it? MTL needs a superstar. If Drouin is too much, switch him for danult

I think he’ll go for more than you expect and less than Sabres fans expect. Make no mistake, it’ll be a lot. Also, those are trades of the past. This situation is unique. Especially considering that he’s a proven elite center, young, and under contract.

Danult with an extension in place is what MTL and likely Buffalo would prefer. Give Buffalo a 1-2 punch that can play and provide depth but I think its accurate value for Eichle

Rossi is too risky due to the effects of COVID. Marat received a serious shoulder injury and this is just a choice in the second round at the moment, although of course he has potential, but there are too many factors for everything to come together. No interest in Dumba, so deal with Wild looks dubious.

Patrick is the same as Rossi, the matter is in his health and how good he will be in the future. Frost is just an addition for deal. As far as I understand, Sanheim has such a contract that in a year he can become UFA if he does not want to play for Buffalo, is also not very suitable. As you can see, not everything is so simple.

Suzuki is young and already plays well in the NHL, he is the center, we will have to somehow replace Eichel and he fits our young core. Caufield looks like a good prospect and definitely has potential in the top 6. I think we definitely won't need Drouin in this deal, instead we could take Byron's contract, remove 2nd round and ask 2022 1st and Luke Tuch for example.

I don't think Gorton will trade Laf or Fox. Therefore, it will no longer be so attractive.

I would not be so optimistic, especially with the Buffalo managment. Adams hasn't proven anything yet, and don't forget that pompous Pegulas are sitting over him.

I truly believe the Pegulas want to win. I just think that they’re not good at hiring. I also don’t think that they fully understand what the flaws of this team are. I mean, Terry thought signing Hall meant we were trying to win the cup. I thought we’d be a contender for the playoffs, but def not a cup contender.

Oh, I also believe the Pegulas want to win, but their decision making looks terrible. We have a good roster, but we are the last team in the league, and for some reason Krueger is still a coach. If they could hire the right people, it would be much easier to win.
