5 years of 7 million is harsh. Btw i wish we could see the contracts of the outgoing players in these trades for the armchair gm

Apparently Parise will only waive for the New York islanders as his father was with the Organization at one time.

Gotta hate the contract, but Parise was always one of my favourite players ever since North Dakota. Provided the right incentive was going with him, I'd find a way to appreciate the deal simply cause I love the player.

Parise isn't waiving. This is just not going to happen

Also guerin was seeking 1st round pick from islanders. So there's no chance this happens anytime soon

As a devils fan I was always against signing Parise long term. He was an elite person who was successful due to elite effort but wasn't quite elite and his style of play doesn't lend itself way long term. Still I love Parise and this sucks I wanted to be wrong.

MN is stuck with him. Trading him now would just be another bad contract or two coming to MN in return. He fell off a cliff sometime over the summer.

Right. Parise will finish that contract in a Wild jersey and if he allows us to protect a younger player all the better.

I'd have to look at the co tracts coming back but if its million less cap and a year or 2 less have to do it atless I would but there wouldn't be a team to do it

Honestly, he’s the guy that’ll end up LTIR. He hasn’t produced but he still plays hard night in and night out. I want him in the locker room.

I don’t think he’s pouting. He’s being benched for not changing at the end of the game. He’s frustrated and I think that probably raises the game of other guys. I look at how he handled KK this fall and his comments about playing with Hartman and I get the sense that he’s a competitor and a good teammate.

Fair, it’ll be more of an occurrence but he’s still a guy to throw out on a 3rd line/PP2. It was always gonna be this way but he’s not blocking anybody’s spot in the lineup and until that happens I’m fine with him in there everyday.

Meh. It's really only next year with him imo. He's a LTIR(etire) candidate. He gets paid $6m next year then it drops to $2m, $1m, $1m. At that point I think he'll say it's not worth the wear and tear on the body, and LTIR due to his back.
