This trade is terrible for LA. That's an extra $18M they have on the books in 2022-23, right around the time they need to give extensions to all their kids. They're just about to get out from under all of their bad contracts, they don't need another one.

Assume that Eichel's trade value is something along the lines of Turcotte, an A prospect forward already in the system like Anderson-Dolan, Madden or Thomas, a couple of roster players like Athanasiou/Amadio/Wagner (our current third line) and Kale Clague, and our 2021 first and 2022 first. If you add Skinner, we get to subtract one of the firsts and one of the middling player elements because Skinner's contract is one of the five worst in hockey. But if you want Carter, we'll subtract another one of the middling elements instead. So Turcotte, Carter, Clague and our 2021 first is what we'll give you for Eichel and Skinner.
