Full Rebuild

Created by: JokiStan
Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 3, 2021
Published: Mar. 3, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Team ain't going anywhere built like this. Time to rebuild! (Again....)

Some Notes:

-this team could either be a pleasant surprise with this roster or..... Absolutely awful lol. But that's ok because this team is very young and we have a embarrassment of riches in draft picks!

-RNH signing is as much for guiding young players and mentoring as it is his skills. Feel free to trade him once Cozens can take his role / draft pick is ready to fill those shoes.

-Sabres likely go defense or goalie in 2021 but needs may change with how season goes

-if they do go through growing pains next season (very possible) they can have a chance at Shane Wright, a very special talent!

Money talks, and he would be able to play 1st line and mentor young players. He could even have a case for the captaincy over Cozens. I wouldn't expect him to want to come to this mess but anything's possible

Avalanche decline. Don't think you could even give Hall to them with 50% retained.

Not trying to be mean but wake up. A team this consistently awful even with Eichel needs major changes. There is no way Eichel would want to sit through a rebuild and I can understand that. This team I constructed would be able to compete in 2-3 years and this super young roster might be better than the team we're icing right now.

But why do we need to rebuild? Just hire a competent coach and give Jack some rest if he's playing with an injury all the time.

I agree money talks for sure, but 7 mil is probably what he deserves anyway. To go to Buffalo, they would have to overpay for him IMO. Which for Buffalo, they have a poor history for big money contracts of late (Okposo, Skinner, Erhoff, Leino for examples of recent memory)

Jets send counter offer of only one second round pick for one year of Ristolainen before he hits UFA.
