Description

My thought process,

This team can score, no matter the outcomes of these last couple games, our defence is in need of the anchor Klefbom used to be. And our goaltending cannot be built around Mike Smith even if he had a couple hot games.
Ekholm would be a fantastic addition especially if Klefbom were not to return next year.
Would be a calming vet to walk Dad ( Bouch ) through his first season.
Raanta would probably be a pure rental, but adding an NHL ready prospect in Benson to take on turris to make money work would be ideal for the oilers perspective.
Turris would have a chance to gain confidence back in the very structurally sound AZ club.

Barrie to MIN makes sense from my point of view again because his puck moving would thrive in a way better defensive structure & systems than here in EDM, he also would be a big boost to the PP which is treading at around 7% (last I checked) special teams are vital for playoff success and the wild look like they’re going to be in there comfortably.

I am extremely ignorant to the American markets so let me know what values could be adjusted.

HUNCH: I think Carey Price wants a change of scenery.

I think he’s better than the numbers he’s putting up and getting him on a team with the scoring punch of EDM would be interesting for EDM fans to consider.

Having said that, Price has a full NMC, and a hefty contract. Would MTL be willing to eat some of that salary for another 5yrs after this season? Can EDM fit that in there cap structure? Do they believe Price can turn his season around as much as I do? Would Price waive his NMC for EDM?

Wild don’t need Barrie. I do agree with the need to improve the powerplay but I believe that has to come by improving the forwards not the defense.

Agreed. Jones coming back doesn't really make sense from an expansion draft persepective, but the value is there for NSH. They can flip him, or figure something else out later.

I think Jones coming would help I don’t see Nashville doing the 7-3-1 setup because they will probably overhaul some of the forwards they would have needed to protect

I hope not, prices current value is based off reputation alone, and his bubble performance. But the last 3 years his GSAx have been meh at best, an looking at the oilers defence as it stands I can guarantee price doesn’t want to be anywhere near Edmonton ahahaha
