Pittsburgh should 100% not do the Buffalo trade. Skinner has been a healthy scratch for a reason and Dumo is still a top pairing dman.

Avs trade is as realistic as can be. I mean, what teams aren't lining up to give away their 2C signed at a great number for a pile of garbage?

POJ is not ready to be at the NHL. You basically destroy their defense which has been one of the solid points of the team this year.

if that reason is the coach is an idiot, yes. I think he wants out of BUF. Not that the contract was a wise signing. 9 million was a huge over pay for a guy who hit 40 goals 1 time. But it is what it is.

That Colorado trade is reallllll bad. Matheson is a huge cap dump.

As for Skinner? You're essentially turning Dumo into an $8.1 mil defenceman, plus leaving the Sabres on the hook for another $4 per season for 3 extra years. It's almost cheaper just to buy him out, which also seems like a bad plan.

The “top pairing dman” excuse is exactly why Pittsburgh should trade for skinner. Skinner has been underutilized in Buffalo. You have to give to get, and trading dumo gives them the best chance to get better now.

Buffalo would retain half if they had too. It’s better than bankrolling 9m to a guy for the next 6 years.
