Description
Mantha is what he is! He's 26 years old. Not getting the idealized version of Mantha. That's the same as the Habs fans thinking Drouin is at the MacKinnon level because of RAW skill. Stop it!

I agree and it's probably why Canadiens fan's should try to fix the Wing's!

Mantha trade isn't going to fix the Wings. This is what I keep hearing. Hold your nose

Retain $2.85M for the next 3 years. Yeah ok!

I forgot Wings need that money to chase a championship. That right there is your problem as I figured. Your team is bad and will be bad. Come back to reality. A contending team would pay a Premium for a cheap Mantha. Maybe 2 1st rounders. I know this is insane instead of thinking Mantha gets you Kakko or Eichel

Neither is trading Saros for a 4th...

If NSH trades Saros, it will be for a much better deal than this.

I also think some of the emerging goalies this year will be more enticing than Ingram given his unfortunate current circumstances.

Please tell me Saros worth? I need a laugh

Ingram as not showed that he can be an NHL goalie so why would seattle take him over players that could get exposed like Kunin or Sissons or Jarnkrok.

Sissons lol signed for what 5, 6 more years. I doubt Seattle is doing jumping jacks for a bottom 6er signed forever. They also need youngsters on entry level deals to send to the minors. They pick 29 players, a roster holds 23.

Its asset management

The thing is... if I tell you that your players and prospects have less value... you might believe me and then I can pretend swindle you which serves no purpose in life at all... So Mantha is worthless but I want to help you out by offering a bag of pucks and water bottles and you also retain 1/2. If you add that garbage kid Raymond then I'll give you future considerations, and you should be so lucky.

So what do you say? hahaha deal or no deal

Not sure why you're trying to ridicule a player, and add him to your team at the same time. It gets even harder to take you seriously than it already was.

At the very least though, letting SEA take Saros - thereby protecting the rest of their players from being selected - provides more value to NSH than losing Saros and another roster player for just a 4th.

Are you serious?

RFA, turning only 26 in a month, past 4 seasons he's had .923, .925, .913, .914 sv%. Yes this season is .895 right now -- but you can't just look at that number and make an assumption.

The main reason for his low sv% right now is the NSH PK which is awful. His 5v5 sv% this season is right in line with his career average. However, his shorthanded sv% is waaaay below his previous seasons, which were .920, .902, .881, .890, and this season a whopping .759. That's why his numbers don't look good. If NSH improved their PK then he would be fine.

Don't just look at one stat and think that Saros is all of a sudden awful. NSH has the 3rd worst PK in the league at 71.2%. That's why his numbers look bad right now.

Saros is easily worth more than a 4th.

I wasn't laughing at Saros. im laughing at the idea that you think he's somehow worth this big package. Ok maybe hes worth more than a 4th rounder but to suggest it's ridiculous is hard to take you seriously when goalies continually get traded for little

This is such hyperbole. I threw him in for a 4th. Don't go looking for a red herring.

I have a question for you. Is he a goalie?

Then I'll go further before you quote some other nonsense that i didnt say

Hahahaha, Youare actually right about 1 thing here, the trade didn't have retention.. BUT, you proceed to mention retaining to get a slight add in the trade... Regardless of that, what I just stated is exactly what you're doing. You can go on pretending you're not. Maybe send Panarin to MTL for Tatar and Danault... Keep on dreaming kiddo

I don't think that at all I have yet to put a price tag on Mantha, because it isn't about value. If Detroit doesn't want to trade him just like I said before he signed his 4yr deal. It really isn't a hard concept even you should get it sooner or later.

I think I get it though you made the playoffs so no Lafreniere, Mantha sings a 4yr extension to stay in Detroit and then PLD gets traded to Winnipeg. Life doesn't always work out how you want it to deal with it and move on. I'm pretty sure that smell is coming from Montreal because their last cup was in 1993 and Detroit's had 4 since that.

LOL more low hanging fruit.

The answer is a goalie. A goalie holds little value. But keep going how Saros instead is now a different asset than thought

I challenge you to find something I got wrong. I got way more flack then this on a few trades that I nailed. Homers typically only see the idealized version of their own players and dont understand how deals are made. Fair trades aren't a thing. Trades are made in desperation and need. I literally called the Schmidt trade among others, Saad being a cap dump to trade, etc. I know doing research is tough when it doesn't fit your own narrative

Thanks for telling me what I think. Seeing as how I can't recall voicing an opinion on the trade value of Saros here yet, having you decide what my opinions will be is a real time saver.

Yes I'm quite aware that goalies carry very little trade value, considering the importance of the position. No I can't imagine Saros will magically be an exception to that rule. That's why I don't see any reason for NSH to offer him up to DET for basically nothing. Curious why you feel Detroit should get more for a UFA Bernier than they're giving up for a young RFA like Saros though.

Desperation trades make little sense. Ppl here take themselves way too seriously. Most trades are done in a vacuum.

Schmidt went for a 3rd rounder as Vegas was desperate. I literally called it. Search my ACGM threads. Stepan went for a 2nd rounder.

Are we to say Stepan is more valuable than Schmidt?! Of course not.

Bernier is a deadline deal. Saros will be another Schmidt

If ppl here weren't such triggered softies they'd ask these questions so thank you for asking instead of attacking. FINALLY

So the Preds lose Ingram for nothing then in expansion. Askarov-Ingram is their future. That aint good asset management. Goalies dont hold much value

OR Askarov-Saros. The odds of losing Ingram in expansion are slim.

You forgot the retention so its trade Mantha for peanuts and retain half of his salary.

He did mention something like that in the comments which doesn't add up to his original ACGM but I can't really call him out for it since he put me on ignore list a couple months back for calling out his ACGMs/posts for being irrational. If he doesn't like your point, he will just call you a homer with no sort of civil discussion or even a baseline for his assumption/speculation and you really can't change those people's mind.

Schmidt and Stepan play different positions. One was at the start of a long contract, the other was at the end of one. You're trying to compare apples and oranges, and I'm still not sure what the point you're trying to make is.

Keep calling everyone in the thread triggered though, when you get called out for your rudeness and irrational positions. Someone could mistakenly take you seriously for some reason. "Triggered" is exactly the type of sad, juvenile lashing out that informs everyone that you don't deserve to be.

Nino Niederreiter is scoring at a 60+ point pace over 82 games. Bean is scoring at a 30+ point pace. Bean is a rookie. You're going to need to make one of those a 1st for any form of consideration

Nino was a cap dump in the Summer. Peaks and Valleys

Toews went for 2 2nds. Toews is much better than Bean. Carolina will be lucky to get this kind of deal before expansion

Honestly, they are goalies. Who cares! I was filling the roster. The idea that Saros-Ingram moving the needle is hilarious! Goalies continually make themselves volatile assets and the league is going to a 1A-1B tandem.

Saros aint worth much and anyone that thinks otherwise may want to take a history course to start. There's a saying here

Then they won't make this kind of deal before expansion. It's a bad deal. Nino was NEVER a cap dump. His defensive game alone is basically worth 5 million, when you consider he's got upside of 60 points? yeah, if you think he's a cap dump, you need your head checked.

As for the bean Toews comment, NYI were in cap trouble and forced to move him to match a potential move for Barzal (this was done before Boychuk LTIretired) and Bean is STILL BETTER ANALYTICALLY!

So no, this is still horrible. You would need MINIMUM 1 1st in this deal to interest Carolina.
