Take out Chytil, and add a B prospect...it's fine. Kakko+Lundkvist+Strome+1st+fringy prospect to get the franchise center that you require seems like a pretty fair deal, tbh.

A lot of people myself included would say that Matthews and Eichel are very similar. I would rather have Eichel though because at the end of Matthews contract he is most likely going to Arizona.

The Leafs aren't rebuilding while they're 1st overall.

Toronto wants proven skill. NJ wants all these prospects. Buffalo wants Eichel to stick around.

NYR are stuck in no-man's land, outside of the top-10 in the draft without any experienced guys they want to trade away, to further tank their season. It's a year of growing pains, unless they make some big deadline pick-ups and really go for it.

The difference in Eichel and Matthews is pretty big

1) Matthews is a lot better
2) Matthews isnt on a dumpster fire team
3) His team isnt selling
4) They dont wants scraps/futures for their franchise player

Both players aren’t getting traded either way. Jack won’t ask out until he has a NMC. And I’m not sure why everyone thinks he would want to go to another rebuilding team. Pretty similar to the Sabres.

This is too much for Matthews. He's only leading the nhl in goals by 4. That's unacceptable. Take out Kvastov, he's going to be better than Wayne Gretzky someday.

Chytil is future top 2c, Kravtsov and Lundkvist are probably the best forward and defense prospects in all of hockey. And a first pick. And Strome who had 59 pts in 70 gp. Those are all considerably more valuable assets than Mittlestadt and Olafsson.
