Pens trade Sens

Created by: LetsGoPens69
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 4, 2021
Published: Mar. 4, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Pens get C.White long-term. They need another RH shot and RH Stick to take FO’s. Pettersson or Dumoulin are expendable with PO Joseph and Matheson playing well.

Sens Defense would be set with young players with potential like their offense. Chabot/A.Zub, Pettersson/Zaitsev, Brannstrom/J.Brown.

Jankowski is a RFA and plugs in for the Sens the rest of the year. If he plays well, they can re-sign him.

Oof, that Colin White contract is not a good looking one. Just looking at the last 3 seasons White has scored .48 goals and 1.19 assists per 60 minutes played. In comparison, Dominik Simon has scored .49 goals and 1.11 assists per 60 minutes played. Do you really want to pay a guy 4.75 mill to produce at the same rate as Simon?

Don't think Ottawa aceepts this. With Sanderson and Brannstrom coming up I can't see them investing in another LHD like this.

Sanderson will be in a Sens uniform well before that Petersson contract is done. Brannstrom is a left shot D who’s never played RD for the Sens and probably never will because they like their defencemen playing on their strong side.

Worth noting that in comparison, White has played with ****ing **** on the worst place team in the league, and Simon has played with Crosby.

I used the last 3 years in that comparison. White's most common linemates in that span were Stone and Tkachuk. Not exactly bums, but my point is for his salary he needs to produce more than that. I wouldn't want that contract on a cap tight team.

He played with Stone for 1 year. If he's a most common linemate that speaks to the revolving door of ****. Brady is fine, but he is a 30/30 guy, so I wouldn't act like that's a big boon when comparing point production with Sidney Crosby

Im not saying he's the right fit for Pittsburgh, Im just saying its a bad comparison

In your opinion Ottawa rejects.

I think it’s an overpay.

Pettersson has more value than White. Defense is always valued in the NHL. Especially, good young D-men, 24 years old, top 4 LHD, that play 20 plus minutes a night, and still has more potential. Look at Ceci, M.Staal, Jack Johnson contracts. You can never have enough D-Men. And proven, good, young D-Men, are always valued.

And a 2nd round pick and Jankowski is good value for a rental, A.Anismov, and a goalie prospect(which Ottawa is loaded with).

Ah okay that makes sense as to why you thought that. He has played RD at lower levels but has never played RD in the NHL. They should switch that lol
