Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Barkov, Rackell, Gibson, Kuznetsov, Nylander, Huberdeau, Meier, Ehlers, Connor

Those player come to my mind thinking about the value of the trade. Maybe Tkachuk, Huberdeau and Barkov could be included if it's a 4th 5th OA pick. The other if it's a 7th 8th

Huh? I mean that 5-7th pick is going to be better than a middle six or middle pair dman.

Not sure about other guys, but Jets decline this offer for both of Ehlers and Connor. Only ones I think are close are Gaudreau, Rakell (might be too much for him), nylander. The other ones are a bit far fetched.

I edited my reply to be a bit more reasonable with my explanation but seriously......... that middle six guy better score 35 goals and 60 points every year to even get close to this value. Honestly this package likely lands a guy like Gaudreau, Rakell, Meier or Nylander. Think someone with that kind of value. It’s one quality piece away from acquiring a guy like Kuznetzov and tkachuk

This can definitely fetch Johnny Hockey, Rakell, Nylander maybe if Toronto is okay with parting and think they can get a really good player with that pick, Meier, forsberg. Could be close if Ottawa added another piece to get a guy like Kuznetzov or Tkachuk.

I was thinking teams that are looking for that first 'we are now sellers' type of move. NSH and SJS come to mind. Is CGY there? Leafs aren't.

Leafs aren’t, but will have to address their cap issues soon. Also nylander is what he is, a guy who can play the wing, put up decent points, while being poor defensively but not a complete liability. IMO the leafs can afford to move him especially if it fetched a top 6 pick, along with branstrom and Grieg.

CGY should look to retool, I’m almost convinced JG will be traded at some point, he’s not resigning.

I think it’s way way too much for Rakell. And it would have to be Gaudreau or Forsberg with an extension

draft picks in 2021 probably hold a lot less value than a typical year. 5th-8th OA is far more of a crap shoot this time around. You'd definitely still get a top 6 forward of top 4 D for that package but I don't think you'd get anyone elite like those mentioned above

Does 5th-8th overall imply the pick is lottery protected?

I'm not sure Ottawa should be offering up those kinds of packages. Sens have a good prospect pool, but if you've paid any attention Belleville this year, it's been very clear they aren't that deep. Sens need high level talent, but they need to have depth as well. Plus Ottawa will get more than just depth value from all of those pieces, especially the 1st and Brannstrom.
