I don't think getting rid of Smith is a big concern for NYR anymore considering he's gone after this season anyway, so they're not going to add a sweetener to get rid of him. If you get rid of Smith + Kravtsov I think it's a more realistic trade.

I don't think they would want Kravtsov or Kakko.

Realistic and you send Ristolainen to Boston when they have McAvoy and Carlo on the right side.

This was just to add salary to make the salaries close in the eichel trade. Eichel may be one of the most valuable assets in the league right now!

Carlo can move to third pair, or one of the three D man can switch sides. They desperately need offense from the back end especially if mcavoy goes down

Might be more interested in Laf, true, but I think Kakko/Laf, Lundkvist, Strome, 1st is fair for Eichel.

No they don't "desperately need offense from the back end" and McAvoy isn't injured, What the Bruins need is a good two-way top4 LD and Ristolainen isn't that. They won't move Carlo on the third pair and only have one good LD in Grzelcyk, just trade for a LD. It's simple.

I was just about to say the same thing and I think ny rather give up a total 3 firsts over kakko

he was a third round pick last year. He had a good WJC but he still has much to prove, and Montour is a Top 4 puck moving D who can play good D as well. would slot well beside muzzin

Montour has been disappointing for a few seasons now, would be a bottom pair on most teams and is a rental. I wouldn't even play him above Bogosian for the Leafs right now. He's not going to get more than a 2nd or 3rd round pick and I'd argue its more likely even a later round than that.

I would rather to a risto and mitts for Nolan Patrick type of deal. Obviously both side would add more

Wouldn't a LHD make more sense for Boston?

I didn’t say McAvoy was injured, I said if he got injured. McAvoy provides good offense, but your next highest scoring defensemen is Zboril with 4 pts in 18 games. IF McAvoy got injured there would be much offense from the blue line

Easy no from Boston. No need for a RD. Zero interest in Risto.

Considering how Ristolainen has been a disaster on the right side the past seasons, I don't even want him to try to defend on his off-side.

Uhhh well that would make sense, if risto were any good. Carlo is certainly not moving to the third pair. He’s their number 2 d man. Desperately need offense from the back end? 1. Why? 2. How does risto do anything about that? I’m not a fan of Beecher, but i doubt the bruins are trading their center prospects for a bad fit with Bergeron and krejci at the age they’re at.

Harshly worded but fair I think the Leafs set an NHL record this year for the most mobile skilled NHL caliber D on a 50 man roster it's kinda bonkers

Even Duszak and Kivihalme seem NHL capable

Hoping Lehtonen gets more opportunity as well
