If NSH is retaining and taking Engvall off your hands, they'll want a better + than SDA.

So, it seems quite obvious from Keefe's previous stops, and the amount of lineup tinkering he is doing this season that he really likes having a checking/grind line to throw out there.

But that's out the window after they find one and start getting great overall defensive results?

Agreed, also if the Leafs deal with any American teams it won’t be at the deadline. Will happen around mid March. The Leafs would have only 7 games left to integrate any player/s coming if acquired at the TDL after they have passed through the quarantine period

Sure, grab him anytime you want - Nashville's death spiral of a season isn't on any tight deadlines.

Engvall isnt a dump. He is part of a checking 3rd line that just completely blanketed mcdavid and draisaitl

If the leafs are giving up 3 assets for a player, I'd like it to be for someone who hasnt been awful for the past couple years.
If granlund was still getting 60+pts sure? the 0.45ppg guy he has been as a pred? nah

NSH already has too many 3rd liners. Paying Engvall over a million for 4th line duties feels like a waste when a younger, higher upside player like Trenin is already being under-utilized. If he provides value to the Leafs, that's great for them. NSH doesn't want him though.

If Granlund was a consistent 60+ point player (he's only done that twice in his career, so maybe your expectations of him are already too high) he'd probably cost at least a 1st as a rental. Sounds like this proposal might not be a great fit for either team.

The 3rd line looks good with Engvall at Center. Honestly would rather move on from kerfoot and go after a good top six winger. I guess Granuland can play wing, but I’d make more sense to go all in and go after Foresberg imo

The current edition of Engvall is as good as Granlund. It's nuts to break up this unit. Then Granlund misses about 7 games with Covid.
What's this fantasy of making Granlund a 2nd line winger over Thornton and Mikheyvev.
