What I think a return for Logan Brown would look like

Created by: sensonfire
Team: 2020-21 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 4, 2021
Published: Mar. 4, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. A low 2nd round pick for the upcoming draft

A similar situation was the Lias Andersson trade between the Kings and the Rangers.

2. A prospect of a similar age that was also drafted in the first round but can't seem to lock down a spot on an NHL roster.

A similar situation was the Alex Nylander trade between the Sabres and the Blackhawks.

What do you think a potential return for Logan Brown would look like?

Let me know in the comments :)
Trades
1.
OTT
  1. 2021 2nd round pick (STL)
2.
OTT
  1. Rasmussen, Michael
Additional Details:
What's interesting about this trade is that:

1. Both players are 6 foot 6
2. Both players weigh 220 lbs
3. Both players can play centre and take faceoffs
4. Both players are roughly the same age
5. Both players were taken at around the same spot of their respective drafts (9th and 11th overall)
6. Both players are struggling to make their respective NHL teams
7. Both players often find themselves in the AHL
8. Both players could benefit from a change of scenery and see their hockey careers flourish with a different team.

Could a trade like this work for both teams?

Not sure the Kings will be moving any more assets for centers. I think the Kings would trade Lias Andersson straight up but would prefer to keep that second. I',m pretty sure the Kings will use their first and two seconds to shore up on defense and goaltending.

Ottawa trades Artem Anisimov to the Belleville Senators for Logan Brown.

Maybe he can be used properly and not have his deployment mishandled by someone who shouldn't be an NHL head coach, and us Sens fans don't have to watch him blow up for another team while the garbage return fizzles into nothing.

Let's say the Ottawa-Detroit trade happens.

In this scenario, Rasmussen blows up for the Sens while Red Wings fans watch Logan Brown become a "garbage return that fizzles into nothing".

How would you feel? Just curious wink

If Lias Andersson is offered for Logan Brown straight up, that would indicate to me that he will struggle to stay in the NHL for the rest of his hockey career.

Considering that he was traded from the Rangers just recently.

I would go back and edit all of my posts to say "Michael Rasmussen is the greatest prospect of all time" and say "Logan Brown? More like Logan Bust, am I right?"

Nah, I would just admit to being wrong about a prospect. It's happened before, and it'll happen again.

I wouldn't hate the Rasmussen trade in fairness. I just think Brown's a better prospect.

Wow Rasmussen and Brown are very similar. Rasmussen was a Holland draft pick and I don't know how Yzerman values him. Holland did kind of screw him in his last season as GM of the Wings. Holland decided to keep Rasmussen in Detroit when he had a year of eligibility left in the WHL so he had to stay in Detroit and couldn't be sent to the AHL. After a few games it was clear he wasn't ready for the NHL. They kept him in the AHL all of last season to get his confidence back and I'm pretty sure Rasmussen knew that was the plan. I thought he looked good in the few games he played this season and he will be back up before the end of the season. i really don't know if Detroit would trade him or what the would want in return. Last season I would've been ok with this trade but I wouldn't make it now. Rasmussen started the season playing in Austria and was playing at nearly a point a game pace and now in the AHL he has 6 points in 7 games.

LBrown deserves to get out of Ottawa.

OTT is going to sell low on him because the wanted him to play gritty and hes not that kind of player.

I hope he lights it up for another team, he doesnt deserve this.
