He plays 7 minutes a night on the 4th line on the 2nd game of a back to back. Who cares.

I agree Petan isn't really a centre. But Keefe has shown he puts players in and out of the lineup to keep everyone NHL ready. Heck, how much will Petan play anyway?

It's always nice to rest guys and also keep your 13th+ forwards warm and game ready.
Honestly it's an embarrassment of riches and we should be grateful as Leaf fans that the team is doing so well right now.

doesn't change a lot. but the constant rotation of guys shows our depth and it keeps it fresh

seems like the bottom 6 is doing better since no spot is rlly guaranteed

it might be Spezza at centre and Petan on the wing, and even if it's not no need to freak out it's one game

because swapping 4th liners that are about as good as each other around is meaningless and they're just trying to get everyone game time so they dont get rusty

Is Joey Anderson ever in the mix? Or is he basically Spezza-insurance at this point?

Maybe they're working on the 21 games necessary to make him a qualified forward for the expansion draft . . .

I think it's smart to rotate guys in on the bottom two lines, keeps guys fresh, engaged and competition is good, wish the Jets did this, they have two waiver exempt forward prospects that haven't played in weeks, one hasn't played in a month, Leafs fans shouldn't complain about this, it's smart roster/player management.
