IMO you would be adding more than you are willing. I am biased though

I agree with this. Domi isn’t even close to Monahan. I’m neutral to this, I see it like Domi + 1st at least for monahan. Monahan can actually play 1C, at a reasonable level whereas domi can hardly play C and is ideally a top 6 winger.

    They are two bonified 2Cs

domi is not a c, it’s as simple as that. Monahan while yes is better suited as a 2C, could definitely thrive as a 1C in Columbus’ system. With that in mind, you’re adding a good amount on CBJ side as they’re going from a guy who will be a 2C at the very best to a guy who can play 1C in their system.

I can agree adding picks but Domi is a good center. The only thing is that his defense isn't good but I mean there are other Cs in the league who are worse than him at defense

How is he good at C? He couldn’t even crack the top 6 in MTL when they were looking for a top 6 C... he doesn’t handle any C responsibilities well, he sucks in the dot, his d zone coverage is terrible. He’s literally a winger they just stick at C cause they’re desperate. There’s 0 reason to play him at C unless you’re facing a ridiculous amount of injuries.

He's a good player driver. Great passer. Great offensive vision. Had his best season ever at center.

Oh, and he only went our of MTL when he couldn't be a part of their plan at center because the Habs wanted to play KK and Suzuki big minutes

Doesn't make much sense from the Flames perspective. Domi is significantly worse than Monahan and unless CBJ's 2022 1st was in play, I can't imagine there would be any appetite for this on the Flames' side. Maybe if Bjorkstrand was in play with someone like Texier or Foudy, it would make more sense for Calgary.
