Okay, let me break down why Carolina laugh before they hang up.
Seth Jarvis at 19 is already showing that he could be a better producer at the NHL level than Hertl is. He's over a point per game in the AHL, which might not mean a lot, but he's over a point per game in a league he isn't even eligible to play in because he's too young. He's almost a surefire top 6 winger in a few years.
Gunler was valued as another 1st round pick, that fell to the second where Carolina snagged him. He is a pure goal scorer and has good top 6 upside in the NHL, for sure top 9.
Ponymarev was on of the players on the Russian Junior team, and he's played incredibly well with Shawinigan. Again, probably a middle six player when he gets there.
On top of that, you want another 1st, 2nd, and more?
Please, if Carolina added Necas, we're in the conversation for one of the Edmonton Centers. This is a HORRIBLE overpay for Carolina.
Do you want to make it fair? Drop Jarvis and probably Ponymarev too. OR You could drop Gunler and the 1st. All of these pieces make it an EASY no for Carolina, especially when GOALSCORING IS NOT THEIR ISSUE RIGHT NOW!
