Zib has only 1,5 years left on his deal and has arguably been pretty bad this year.

    Don't think Sabres is interested.

An interesting thought about that is what would you pay to get Auston Matthews out of Buffalo? You'd assume his numbers wouldn't be close to what they are with the Leafs roster but you could see the talent for sure. What kind of numbers would Eichel have on the Leafs this year? I think that's how you have to evaluate a trade for Eichel.

Yeah, this is just a mock trade, I think Eichel is overvalued, amazing player, I don't think your giving up your top 1-3 picks for him.

Why would Zibanejad waive his NMC to go to Buffalo?

Eichel is a 24 year old top 10 centre. I know NYR won’t give up Laf. But if their not willing to give up Kakko, I am more than happy with eichel staying in Buffalo

Zibby is a non starter for eichel.

True I would think you guys would want kakko, it's just laughable seeing trades with Kakko and like 3 firsts for Eichel ya know?

Edit: Plus like a strome or something

People undervalue Eichel. I've read a lot of people on here saying that they wouldn't want to trade part of their future for Eichel, who will immediately become the present and the future of the team he's traded to. 6 mid-value spare parts won't make it.

I can see that he is undervalued, but I'm seeing way too much trades that overvalue him.

You don't think eichel will do more for your team than kakko or lafreinere? I agree they wouldnt come with zibb and a bundle of first but something like kakko, chytil, and a first would be pretty cheap for a guy thats will be a top 10 center in the league for the next 5 years or so and he's signed, at 10 mil.
Between the talent, proven performance, and the contract you might want to revisit you value.
Especially seeing as laf and kakko have done NOTHING at the NHL level to date but look promising.

How often are 24 year old elite centers who are under contract for 5 years available?

I agree. If he's being overvalued, it's people calling him a top-10 center when he might be top-15... not really an argument worth having about one of the elite players in the game. His trade value is sky-high (unless/until it gets publicly ugly in Buffalo)

I wouldn’t touch zibby. Not saying he’s bad. But would rather get younger players. Zibby is under contract for one more season I think with a NTC, Zibby does have value and I would rather get strome who has less value so I get get more pieces

PSA: This is a mock trade, it looks like I think Eichel is overrated (I don't) I just see tons of trades that put way to much for him

He can't resist fried bolognia and onions with horseradish mustard. Its just not the same in NYC.
or he figures he'll get paid 3 mil over value for 8 yr.

He has on a 94 point pace and got hart votes last year. This year he has a extremely low shooting percentage and is on track to win the selkie he’s definitely a top 10 center.

You are right that Eichel is overvalued by posters here. They see his play and value him based off of that but fail to see the position the Sabres are in. Very few teams can take on a cap hit like Eichels, trading a 10 mil cap hit is near impossible regardless of who the player is. They like to say every team would offer on Eichel but really only 4 or 5 teams could make it work. The problem for Buffalo is that none of those teams are competing now or in the next season or two. Teams on the tail end of their rebuild arn't going to be trading big amounts of future top 6/top 4 pieces on ELCs for a 10 mil center who will be well into his 20s by the time they are ready to compete and has been a bit of an issue for the team.
