Who clears waivers

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
17 contracts all $7.5M+. Each player is declining in productivity. They represent over 3/4 of a billion dollars in remaining contract. If each player was waiver today, which ones would find a new home and which ones clear waivers? If you could please comment on where you think the players acquired would go and how that team would afford adding the player. According to CapFriendly, only 4 teams have more than $7.5M in cap space.

Voracek is overpaid by a little, but hes still producing and playing a solid two way game, and hes younger than most of those guys with just 4 yrs left, he probably gets claimed.

Seguin gets claimed.

Seguin turns 30 next season and has 7 years left at close to $10M. He scored 50 points last year. Which team hopes he can return to being a $9.85M asset per season when he hasn't averaged a ppg since 2015-16?

50 pts in 69 games, he was injured and that's only one season. He'll likely bounce back. He is probably going to remain an elite forward for at least 3-4 years, then a great forward for 1-2 years considering his style of play.

Anyways, most of them have NMCs so they can't be waived.

Yeah, Voracek is one of the youngest on this list.

He also has less years left than most

He also out performed most of this list last year and this year.

He doesn't have a NMC/NTC

He has had no real injuries and is one of the more consistent players on this list

He gets claimed

It's a crazy list. Getzlaf is the only one who's a pending UFA which would make the claim easier, but the teams who have cash wouldnt have the need for him unless they flip him to a contender and retain half his salary.
I want to make an argument for Doughty, cause I think he'll still be good for the rest of his contract, but 11 AAV for 7 years is insane

Pretty sure he was talking on a case by case basis, not all in one scenario, though that’s probably still possible.

I honestly think Ottawa passes on all 17. NJ might claim one of Suter, Seguin or Wheeler. I could see Detroit taking a flier on Price as they don't have much in the system in net. LA would for sure grab one and I could see Seguin being a draw in SoCal.

tbh, I dont think many if any teams have the cap space for all or most of these guys
