Sabres shouldn't trade Jack for a dman as the main piece

I think some of these packages are wrong, and that some of the values are off but the fact Colorado has the assets to do this is borderline ridiculous

Dmen are throw ins, the Sabres need to get full value from offense, NHLers and prospects. Byram doesnt mean as much to Buffalo when theyre giving up a franchise center

I would say Eichel isn't a franchise center. Those are players that turn an organisation around on their own. Crosby, McDavid, Matthews, MacKinnon, for example. Eichel hasn't done that. He's elite, and a top 10 C, but Franchise C's are the cream of the crop so let's hold the brakes here.

To be fair, Eichel has never had a Marner & Tavares & Nylander/Drais & RNH/Malkin & Guentzel/Landes & Rant.... Taylor Hall won MVP, sure, outside of that one year he has never been that elite guy in recent years.. Give Eichel a Panarin to play with and you will get a different player

Eichel is a franchise C and he has nowhere near the players around him that those guys did/do and never has Crosby has had Malkin, Letang, Kessel. J Staal, Guerin, Guentzel etc. McDavid from day one had Hall,Eberle, Nuge, Draisaitl. Matthews has Marner, Will Nylander, Tavares, Hyman and I think he had Kessel at one point. Mackinnon has Landeskog, Rantanen, Makar, Kadri etc. Eichel has Reinhart who is decent, Dahlin who isn't playing great and Taylor Hall and Jeff Skinner who combine for 2 goals
