You're more likely to find a Heinen-Virtanen trade with Vancouver than a Heinen-Bennett trade with Calgary.

    Just FYI.

Hate to break to all the Mahura fans but he’s not being protected. Lindholm Fowler and one of Shattenkirk Manson.

He’s an upgrade to Bennett. Eakins is just an idiot and scratched the 2 best offensive players (based on xGF/60) the ducks had, Heinen and Henrique.

is he an upgrade though? Can't play center, isn't physical, not a righty. Again literally does nothing for Calgary. If you think he's such an upgrade on Bennett why would you do the 1 for 1?

I wouldn’t. I want nothing to do with Bennett. Heinen does something he’s just not the most glaring need for CGY, I agree. Need a top 6 RW if they’re keeping Lindholm at C.

My mistake, got you confused with OP. Anyways I agree, not a good fit for the Flames, I think they would be interested in Rakell though

I have a third alternative: Fowler, Lindholm and Larsson. Then re-sign Hakanpaa (I think that he's one of the few bright spots in this season) and we would have whichever one of Manson and Shattenkirk that Seattle didn't take (and they might like a forward instead, ha, ha).

Larsson is behind Mahura on the protection list IMO. I think Manson gets moved if he comes back healthy and looks decent too.

In my mind, the fact that Larsson has played more games in the NHL than Mahura may make him slightly more likely to get selected than Mahura. That thinking, of course, could be silly.

I'd love to see us get some return for Manson.

The only way I'd expose Fowler or Lindholm is if we were getting Seattle's first in return -- and that ain't happenin'.
