Description

Zibanejad has had a down year to say the least, so the pens use their LD depth and the rangers lack of LD depth to get a high level center that gives them four lines they can role. Pens have also been missing a trigger man on the left side wall of the powerplay and he could fill that role perfectly.
I'm a big fan of Glendening because of the faceoff ability and the way he plays and the pens need right handed centers that can win important d-zone draws, plus the penalty kill is terrible and both him and Zibanejad kill penalties.

I obviously know the deal isn't likely, but tell me what you think of the team before you go analyzing a trade that most likely will never happen.

Definitely could, maybe even look to move Riikola if there are any takers or to even out value in a trade, just kept him in because POJ had a rough couple of games before he was sent down and wanted to give him a chance at the roster since he's been hurt most of the year and wasn't playing badly when he got hurt.

Why wouldn't Detroit want the pick? That's the whole point of Yzerman selling rentals at the trade deadline. To acquire draft picks. More kicks at the can the better odds you draft good players.

They do want the pick, that's what I said, I'm trading them a 3rd rounder for Glendening, and including sceviour so the pens can stay under the salary cap.

Sceviour is a pending UFA salary dump. I see. I could see Yzerman doing that.

I think the only player on Penguins that can be used to get Zibanejad would be Crosby. But that would be tough sell for Rangers fanbase.

I am super confused how you are not being trolled relentlessly for this NYR trade... NYR's top 2 LHD are Lindgren and Miller, and while Petterson is very good, I don't see him as that much of an upgrade over either of them (considering ceilings, etc). They aren't weak in the position enough to justify this atrocity. You don't even give up a center (a position NYR is ridiculously weak in) and just pluck away NYR's 1C... astonishing

I was looking to try a trade to get Z on the pens that included MP. But I added Legare, 2022 1st, 0’Connor, and McCann. But didn’t publish it because I didn’t think that was enough and anything more than that is hard to justify for the pens with Z having a down year. If he was killing it, then I’d say go all in, but he’s not. And I can’t see NYR trading for less than that, not to mention to a division rival.
