That doesn’t get you Gibson unless the pick is top 3

Gallant probably doesn't want to go to Buffalo and coach under the Pegulas.

Compher Is pretty bad. Jost would be a better option.

Gibsons numbers have been bad lately. It would be a very Sabres move to trade the farm for a regressing goalie because he was good 4 years ago

Compher isn’t bad he is having a bad year to date he is a 30pt 3rd line guy that plays special teams and can play up the line up in a pinch. The trade doesn’t matter because the Avs don’t want anything to do with Hall after all of his posturing about wanting to play for a contender and taking the most money he was offered.

Cool then we’ll keep him. “His numbers have been bad lately” because he’s on one of the worst defensive teams in league and is left to dry the entire game. If you don’t “trust” his stats right now then the Ducks by all means would be fine with keeping the top 3 goalie in the league.

He’s basically a richer Curtis lazar at this point.

Yes, I am finally seeing people who know how to make a fair E. Staal trade that benefits both teams.

Ullmark has better numbers on a worse team

The package isn’t that good, so I’d be vital that the pick is top 3-5

Besides the fact Lazar has never scored more than 20 pts and Compher has 30+ the last 2 seasons, it’s not even close.

That’s why I said at this point. Lazar has 4 more points right now. With similar analytics.

But it's not. Because Compher already has those two 30+ seasons and is just on something of a down year because of being asked to play out of position. He's never really been a centre in the NHL, nor looked like being one, and was only ever really cover for the role. He's an out and out right wing. In his correct position he isn't the 'cap dump' etc that everyone keeps making out on here. The only issue really for the Avs where he looks like a trade piece is both he & Donskoi are effectively in the same position when the Avs have a full healthy team. #3RW who can move up and down the roster as necessary. Shoehorning him into the #3C spot seems to be the Avs answer to having signed Saad and knocking Donskoi to #3RW. I'm actually not opposed to them keeping JT and trading Donskoi instead if the right deal came about, as whilst they're similar players in style, JT does at least have that centre cover ability and is valuable on the PK. Donskoi is more offensive and is also a little more expensive.

All that said, the Sabres can keep Hall and he can rot there!
