The thing is that with an Eichel trade, I'd imagine BUF would probably want a C prospect in return, and we don't have a lot of those. Unless there was a guarantee that pick is Beniers or Eklund tho

Howden is horrible, and we don’t know if Kakko is good yet. It doesn’t make sense from a Sabres perspective.

What kind of package is Zibanejad worth? Obviously he's only available if they bring in another center, but is what you have here the starting point? He is having a very down year, but was good last year so it is tough to judge

IMO he's been hit hard by Covid. It sucks, especially when we consider younger people aren't affected as badly as older ones are but yeah

I mean when you look ad his shooting %, it tells you he should score more.

I believe for a team looking to get him, the extra season they get with him (21-22) is a big incentive, but hey, that's just my opinion

Yea let me trade for a top player in the league and only offer up a 1st, a 4th line player, and so far a bust of a 2nd overall pick. Thats a joke of an offer

Probably missed the part where I said this isn't the final deal lol, I'm just trying to figure out the rest of the package... Schneider? Lundkvist? 2022 first?

Change your name to HughesforHart

Eichel trade should be

New York: Eichel and Middlestadt
Buffalo: Kaako, Lundqvist, Chytil, Strome, Smith, 2021

Strome and Smith added for cap reasons
If trade happens in offseason, switch Strome with Georgiev

Try Kakko/Laf, Miller/Fox, Strome, Schneider/Lundkvist, 1st this year. That would be ideal for Buf. As a fan i would be ok with Strome, Kakko, Georgiev, Lundkvist, 1st this year

I'm a pens fan, and put together a package of Pettersson, who is a LD which NYR is not super deep at, a 1st, Drew O'connor (NCAA Hobey Baker Nominee so B-level prospect) and a second. How is that for an offer for Z?

Don't think we'd move AG yet but that's a better package than some other ones I've seen

That Florida trade is one you would make at the trade deadline of next year, not now.

MP will be obsolete for us when Miller improves, and that should happen very soon. But value wise, it definitely works

You'd need more than Miller though would you not? Lindgren is not bad, but does Hajek have much of a ceiling?

I don't think that you can include Kakko or Laffy in an EIchel trade, so that means Zibanejad. You'd have to include Buchnevich or Strome, Filip Chytil, K'Andre Miller, and your 2021 first.

I mean in terms of LD moving forward, Miller is our number 1 and Lindgren is our number 2. Hajek will be a number 6. We also have Zac Jones and Matthew Robertson coming up in 1-2 years

I'd be fine with Kakko, not Laffy tho, he'll be an elite play driver where as Kakko will be a sniper. Also Mika wouldn't waive for BUF lol

Pens would have to move out salary so it may be a necessary add to a deal of that kind, but he still has term and has shown he can play a top 4 role so he could be moved for more assets when those players come along.

That would be an amazing package for Eichel... won’t happen. Not a chance NYR give up that much for him. Just bad management if they do. Let Eichel waste away a few years in BUF and then we will send a fraction of the “cost”

I'm not the buffalo fan who expects three 1st, Laffy, Kakko, Miller, and Zib for Eichel, but I have a major feeling you will be surprised with how much New York give up if they trade for him. You don't get to keep Kakko, Laffy, Fox, and Miller while bringing in Eichel. I just really don't see it happening

Why are we the only team they send Eichel to? It’s beyond boring that no one else makes a single big trade with the Rangers other than for Eichel. He’s not the only player in the league. People acting like he’s a god when he hasn’t done anything. Need I remind people Taylor Hall dragged an awful Devils team to the playoffs. If Eichel is so great why can’t he do that for the Sabres. Surely a top 10 player in the league could do so, based on everyone saying he’s a big time Hart candidate. Dude hasn’t done crap and you wanna sell the farm which took time to build for one guy. Sounds like the Rangers of 10 years ago, which is a team that won’t win and probably won’t if we don’t learn from the mistakes of the past. Plus depending on what happens we might be able to draft a top center this year cause of how tough our division is. I’d rather have that player on an ELC than a $10 mil Eichel, while keeping Kakko and a bunch of other pieces.
