That’s a really really good deal for Nashville.

Wings and Preds are the only ones that make sense for Boston.. Wings decline. Preds might take.

Looks like the OP made some changes since I left that comment. It used to be a 2nd instead of a 1st, and a different prospect instead of Becker.

Even with getting a better pick, I don't like it for NSH. I'm not a big DeBrusk fan, and the prospects don't do much for me. BOS really isn't a team I'd want to move Forsberg to anyway though. Any 1sts from them would presumably be very late, and they don't have much in the way of prospects. Studnicka is nice, but he's not someone I'd be hoping for as the best piece in a Forsberg return.

Firsts aren’t being thrown around like candy in a flat cap. If you can get one, be happy.

Vaakainanen is an NHL ready prospect that’s looking good in the league right now. Beecher is probably the worst part of the whole thing to be honest with you. Debrusk has played at a 25 goal pace his entire career. That’s not nothing. I would be pretty disappointed if the bruins made this trade.

I don't see how the flat cap affects the trade value of draft picks. If anything 2021 picks have less value than usual, seeing as how scouting and prospect growth have been hampered by the pandemic (and the fact it's an overall weaker draft class than other years).

I'd also be disappointed in my team, if the Preds made this trade. Looks like we're in agreement that it doesn't work for either side.

As I mentioned previously in the thread, the OP changed the trade since I left that comment. "Quickly" feels overly dismissive now, but was appropriate when there wasn't even a 1st involved.

Still (as I've also previously mentioned here) I just don't think BOS is NSH's best trading partner for Forsberg. Neither of their best prospects (Studnicka and Beecher) are someone I want to see headlining a return for Forsberg personally. If the Preds choose to give up someone who carries the forward group as much as Forsberg has to, they have to give themselves a chance to get a future 1st line or top pairing player back. I don't see that high of a ceiling with any of BOS's prospects, and their 1st round picks for the next couple years are probably going to be quite late in the draft.

Sure.. I don’t necessarily disagree. Forsberg has been a monster, I honestly think he’s a guy NSH should keep around to help Tolvanen along. Out of curiosity, on the flip side Arvidsson has struggled... what would his price look like? (Although I can see with his contract NSH may want to keep him and let him play out of his funk)
