Why would Seattle take Tage Thompson?

I don't think Anaheim does that.

With the protection list it would either be Thompson or Girgensons. If they took Girgensons that's even better. We can add another quality league minimum player to replace him.
The Anaheim trade I'm just trying to gauge value so I appreciate you saying you don't think it's enough. I think it all depends where they stand on UPL and Quinn. Adding some draft capital is always an option.

they would take Borgen or Miller then. even eakin. Thompson is nothing as an NHL player and hes signed for 2 more years at 1.4 million.

Is Borgen eligible? If so I'll have to reassess my protections list. Eakin is garbage so I would think they pick the potential of Tage over the well known below-replacement-level play of Eakin. Unlike our incompetent front office Seattle's is built on analytics.

Tage was drafted in 2016, potential is long gone.

I agree but he could still turn into a William Carrier. And that's better than a guaranteed literal negative in Eakin.

UPL and Quinn is a good start. Probably want at least one more top prospect or a 1st for Gibby. So UPL, Quinn, + for Gibby and then whatever it takes to make the cap hits work. Or since we have dostal, take out UPL and give us Ullmark and then throw in more picks/prospects.
