Ask yourself: "Would I have moved RNH with multiple years of control left in exchange for a late 1st, B prospect, half decent D prospect, and a cap dump?"

I absolutely did. It would have killed more time if you had added the proper pieces though...

It’s basically a 1st for taking Neal as a cap dump and Ekholm for Bouchard and a 4th. Word is we won’t trade Ellis and we’ve got Fabbro so a RHD wouldn’t be a top priority. I’d personally prefer Broberg but at the same time we are probably gonna get a dman in the 2021 draft, we’ve got Farrance already so Dman might not be a return we go for.

Dude... seriously bouchard is like a top prospect you obviously do not watch hockey. And even if you didn't need dmen you could flip bouchard for a really good forward, but this trade would never happen because it heavily favours the preds.

Since when does it cost a first to move a player? I have no idea where that logic comes from. Please do not use Toronto and marleau as an example as that was paying to buy a player out extremely different situation to Neal.

Bouchard is great. Never said he wasn’t. Just saying it’s not the return Nashville would be looking for. If they could get what they wanted from an Ekholm trade without having to take on Neals bad contract and have to make extra moves in order to get what they actually wanted, that’d be the route they’d go.

Its two years of dead capspace in a flat cap era. Typically teams are stuck with them. If a 2nd is all it took, Eriksson, Tyler Johnson, Okposo, etc would’ve been traded as those teams all could’ve used the cap space. I would’ve gladly sent a 2nd somewhere to have someone take Turris off our hands

I’m not I know the player Bouchard is and that’s a great get but it’s a rebuild why would they take on Neal for 2 1/2 more years at almost 6 million. That’s not smart

Not defending trade because it’s crazy to do but as you said it’s a rebuild given the chance land a Bouchard and a first seems silly to get hung up on a contract that only has 2 more years left.

The first being a 2022 helps the deal a lot. I thought it was a 21 so that’s on me not being thorough but I just don’t see Nashville entertaining the idea of Neal coming back. That’s the only piece that that hangs me up on this
