I've seen plenty of Sharks fans buying him out in AGMs, is it an actual possibility? If so, I'd be tempted to offer him a cheap one-year deal.

Nah, Mete's traded because of a surplus of dmen.

I like the Nathan Bastian trade. Your D, is a good 6. My only concern is Fleury. I have watched every single game in Laval and Fleury is not even in the top five in Laval. He is now with Guhle and Fairbrother that went back to Junior but he has played average, nothing spectacular. I am not so sure on him anymore. But I like your rationale and trades. Looks good. I also like that you have not locked up Vlasic long term with many young D's coming.

Danault for 6 at $5 M. interesting. I mean he played great last night but I hope he understands he is the 3rd line Centre next year. But he still has a need because of both Suze and KK's inconsistent play as of late. Tatar also played really good last night, probably his best game. Yes, I know his shoot out move was interesting! lol

Imo, the expectations were always too high regarding Fleury. I always viewed him as a physical bottom pairing dman at best, and I think he'll do just fine there with an experienced partner.

ya I agree with that. A stay at home, nothing fancy hard hitting D. That is how I see him.

what I have found on capfriendly and also the other Habs forum I go on, is to take the time to explain your why's and most will at least understand. We do not know peoples ages on here. Nor their level of understanding. I enjoy the game and enjoy talking about it. I get bored watching tv shows and I don't watch the news period. So, I have free time to talk hockey throughout the day and for me it is fun. I have been on capfriendly since 2017 and only 1 person was super ignorant, so I just blocked him. So it is fun!

ya his name has popped up a lot in posts. MTL has a very good team and they can go very deep, providing players are healthy and clicking. The next five years should be good. I just wish some of the Habs fan would tone things down a little. It is not too bad on here but on RDS and TVA the comments are incredible sometimes!

    Butcher > Mete, imo.
I don't think we move Bastian here as it would add to our offensive d-man logjam

Devils trading great bottom 6 player who is playing pretty well and has potential for a guy that's scratched, isn't playing well and wants out

He hasn't said he wanted out, and Mete's potential outweighs Bastian's.
