Would love to see the Columbus rumor or why they are trading Merzlinkins?

Why would Buffalo do that? They didn’t resign Kahun when they had the chance, and nobody wants Turris. Couldn’t you at least provide an asset that they could actually use? The sixth round pick isn’t it.

Buffalo didn't qualify Kahun because they were worried about arbitration awarding him higher then they wanted to pay in covid cap era not because they didn't like the player. Draisaitl then likely had a big part in convincing Kahun to sign in Edmonton over his other offers which probably included Buffalo.

He also was not worth giving that qualifying offer. Seeing as he signed for less than $1 million it’s pretty clear what he’s actually worth. He thought he was worth more and he’s not. I don’t think they want to be arguing over his next contract either.

Where’d u get this rumor from?
It’s HORRIBLE
We didn’t even QUALIFY Kahun this past offseason
So if we didn’t want him then, why are we trading for him all of the sudden???
Makes ZERO sense

A lot of players signed for way under what they were worth this offseason. Just how things went with the flat cap was nothing restricted to just Kahun, he had over 0.5 PPG last year in a normal offseason he likely gets a 2-2.5M bridge

The rumour is about EDM wanting Staal not the return. Buffalo didn't qualify Kahun because they were worried about the arbitration awarding him more then they could afford in flat cap offseason. He was a 0.5 PPG last year so likely would have gotten hefty raise from arbitration

If we wanted to keep him we could’ve
I’m not gonna argue with you about what you THINK you know

No interest in ANY part of this proposed return for Staal
ZERO chance of it happening

It’s no secret that the Jackets will need to move one of the goalies this offseason or possibly the trade deadline. Edmonton would be a very good landing spot for either of them but the package is not what the Jackets would be looking for

Sure he scored four points in six games with us last year. He has eight points in 25 games this year playing with one of the top five players in the world. So which guy is he? The guy who can average half a point a game? Or the guy who might score a point once in awhile playing with one of the best players in the world? A 20 to 30 points season is not worth $2 million a year. You know he would not be playing with the best players we have. And only one of them is arguably a top 10 player in the world.

Elliotte Friedman’s recent 31 thoughts suggests Edmonton’s interested in merzlinkins still very fresh tho not a lot of info

Bruins might sell low on DeBrusk but they won't sell THAT low.
