it's not horrible as long as you hit with one of the 1sts to get a 2nd line C for the future (or even get Wright/Lambert in 2022). idk if trading your elite 1st line center for a few wingers (no matter how good they are) is the best idea

I just don’t see him leaving BUF for another 2 years. The package/price is too much but will drop closer to his contract ending and then there will be a move on him and by then it will be 4 new teams trying to add him.

Rangers politely decline. If they were much closer to being contenders I could see them considering it, but as it stands now they are not in a "win now" mindset. Much better off taking their time and fully realizing the rebuild. Honestly my personal belief is Jeff Gorton (GM) will not make the trade if Kakko/Lafreniere is involved. If he loses out on Eichel because of that, so be it. I think he is content to continue on the current path.

Here's a news flash... I don't want to trade him at all!

I'm sure he is taking calls/hearing offers from Buffalo (as any GM should), but probably hangs up the phone quickly when hearing Lafreniere or Kakko (as he should). He can offer some high end prospects (Kravtsov, Lundkvist, Schneider, etc.), but Buffalo probably hangs up the phone when it doesn't start with Kakko, Lafreniere, or Chytil (as they should). If neither of them are willing to compromise, Eichel probably just goes somewhere else (if he moves at all)

i would take kakko but if hes not in the trade im sure MTL can offer more

Wild are currently stocked up on crappy players, they keep most of them in the AHL and Taxi squad where they belong, so Wild pass. Also Wild have no cap space to add these guys.
