completely agree. terrible idea. price is widely considered the 2nd best goalie in the league - nothing has changed. he will find it - if he plays like he did last game, then he already has.

Seattle turns that down for Price. They spend 10m and sign Barkov. Save cap and get the better player and don't worry about the picks.
All these high priced cap dumps are very hard to do. Teams would rather just spend that cap money on better players immediately

They don't sign Barkov because he will re-sign in florida...

I agree, but he ain't signing in Montreal. Just saying there are lot better ways to spend 10.5m long term than on Price. The picks are so for down the line, they don't mean much.
For some reason, every "homer" thinks Seattle is taking on their long term bad contracts.

I highly doubt Seattle wants to start its existence with the worst contract in the NHL

Price is highly disrespected. he hasn't had the best start but the team in front of him has been garbage. People have forgotten what he did in the playoffs last year. Any team would take him

He has been an average goalie for 3 years now and makes 10.5 million until he is 39.

Look at the team in front of him. They're defence was terrible those years. They had Viktor Mete on the first pairing

And hes not even an NHL defensman which is the point. Jordie Benn was in their top 4, Karl Alzner played 82 games one year, Joe morrow and Jakob jerabek splitting time lol

yippie. replacement level stats from your 10.5 million goalie.

you had shea weber and jeff petry for all that and plenty of other solid players.

doesn't seem to affect say jake allen who has a .921 svp

thats more games than the guys you were trotting out.

not a great look that you are blaming your 10.5 million goalie on the defense, proves hes not worth 10.5 million or anywhere close.

Look at John Gibson, hes an incredible goalie, the team in front of him sucks, he would attract plenty of value.

Habs fans are not a monolith. This opinion is a weak one. Most Habs fans would not agree.

What’s a bigger waste of time, banging your head repeatedly against the wall, or talking to a Sabres fan who doesn’t watch Habs games about how good he thinks Carey Price is?
