Cap could be flat for 4 years

Created by: coga16
Team: 2021-22 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 31, 2021
Published: Mar. 10, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
apparently the cap could stay flat up to 4 years so escrow to rebuild
I think that basically just solidifies Makar and his agent taking a 3 year bridge deal so they can plan a mega contract once the cap can rebound

Use the little cap space that saves them in a flat cap in an attempt to keep Saad (give him same deal that Tofolli got), if the cap is ineed to be flat for that long, best thing the Avs can do is try to run it back and bring in their ELC young guys

saad's been decent but a 4 year deal isn't very appealing. not huge on jost being the 3c either. the rest looks good.

thats just a long term contract haha, its just based on that conf call that bettman said the cap could be flat up to 4 years. Could go up in year 3 as well so try to time it from his agents perspective

Hated it since day one. Pandemic or no pandemic, was stupid to sign him. He’s already showing signs of decline.

Gotta think they go cheap on the goalie situation, hope Campbell can stay healthy enough to play at least half the games split with another 1B. Andersen and Rielly are gone first IMO

He was 27 and in his prime, whoever signed him was going to get his best and worst years

If it gets too bad, I will personally kidnap Kyle Dubas, make JT waive his NTC and get him off this team.

Then let it be SJ or NYI. I hope for the Rangers sake they don’t trade for Eichel. Having possibly him, Panarin, Trouba, and then paying your rookies will add up quick.

Only real change I would make is Girard and Toews have looked so good together and Byram should be ready next year so put him with Byram.

Yeah I had that originally but I hated the Timmins EJ third pair as both rights, so just tried to be more left shot right shot balanced

Jost isn't more than doubling his salary given how little offense he produces. Wouldn't mind bringing him back at a little over $1m though if he takes that.

Don't go over 3 years with Saad ideally.

Makar will get $7m+ even on a bridge.
