Winnipeg likely doesn't have much interest in Hamonic considering they could have signed him this summer and didn't.

Yes.

Before anyone tries to say it, Niku is not a good piece and isn't likely to be an NHLer. He had like 1 good D+1 year and people here act like he's some super valuable prospect

No doubt that it’s not enough for Ekholm.
But Niku has some value. He has shown flashes of being a good puck moving dman. He could very well turn into an NHLer, just probably not in Winnipeg

I think he's a nice add for depth. I dont think it cost's a 3rd though...probably a little less.

I'd agree with that. I just think management might not think much of him considering they passed on him in the summer.
