If it's pre expansion trades, why are all those UFAs being traded? Makes no sense.

Well since the Leafs aren't trading JVR for Fleury an awful deal for the Leafs, they are in no position to trade Fleury to the Flames. And why would the Leafs have to trade for UFA Campbell? Senseless.
Gardiner for Brodie might be fair, but I really don't know why the Leafs would do it. Gardiner is a greatly improved player.
