If we trade for Ekholm that means we lose him or Holl to Seattle. And then we give up a 1st, one of our top prospects and a potential top 4 D for him? Doesn't make sense for the leafs at all.

You have that trade being done in the off-season which means it would take place after the expansion draft, we would have already lost Ekholm or Holl to Seattle at that point

Its pretty comparable to the muzzin deal. Ekolm is better, cheaper with salary retention. Also, we have Robertson, Hyman, and Mik on the win so Amirov is kind of expendable. Its win now for Leafs Amriov won't be here for a few years.
