Normally when you upgrade something you have to pay more than what you current product is.

Even with all that, it makes zero sense for the sabres

One year plus of Darcy Kuemper is worth more than less than half of a 56-game season of Freddie Andersen and a future second. Way more.

Moreover, Arizona doesn't need a goalie coming back.

I don't think the Leafs have to go after a goalie. Freddie hasn't been great but his worst stretch is coming back from an injury. Yet they are still leading the division.
I've really like Campbell when he's in, so if anything just ride with Freddie for now and give Campbell more starts once he's healthy.

Nylander Tavares Marner are all better than Eichel because they have better stats this year
