O’Reilly was traded for a player who was a recent 1st rounder, a 1st round pick, a 2nd round pick two NHL veterans that were depth or mid-roster players.

Keeping in mind Eichel would command more, the likely minimum ask from Buffalo would be:
Suzuki (recent 1st rounder)
Caufield (instead of 1st round pick)
2nd round pick
Frolik (depth)
Byron (depth)

Buffalo wouldn’t likely settle for Kotkaniemi instead of Suzuki.

Edit: I don't cheer for either team. Just read an article by Adam Gretz and decided to apply it to Eichel.

Why are you using the O'Reilly trade as a template? Because Buffalo was so happy with how that trade ended up the first time?

Both the Carter and Richards trades didn't fit as well. The Nash, the Seguin and the Kessel deals had multiple pieces from both sides which is trickier.
