Description
Obviously not doing more than one of these trades, but do any of these work for people? The Ryan and Anthanasiou deals are the more traditional rentals and maybe Senyshyn and a mid round work for either. The Rakell is more complicated in that he has another year on his deal which brings up expansion issues. What stinks is that Craig Smith is the guy that Sweeney signed during the off season so that he wouldn’t have to make his annual trade for a middle six guy.

I tried to steer clear of anyone that would require a 1st or one of either Studnika or Beecher as I think that the Bs are planning on keeping those assets at all costs. So guys like Forsberg, Palmieri, and Hall were left out. Anyone think of anybody else that might slot in?

Doubt any of these forwards will really change anything.

So McAvoy plays 60 min/game?
Bruins need defensemen, no?

Agreed. Rakell could if he turned back two years.

I think what the Bruins give up all depends on what they get back. Studnicka and Beecher not off the table if their replacement is coming back - Eichel, Barkov, Monahan.

Up front, I'm waiting for Kase to return. One move I would absolutely do is add a top4 LD.

No, not really. It all depends on Carlo and how long he will be out.
In an ideal world they could use a 1LD, but Lauzon was doing fine. Grzelcyk is great a 2LD and can play up. He and McAvoy are good together (Partners at BU)
Zboril at 3LD is great. He is a 2LD.

Tinordi has been what they needed with Size and toughness. Perfect 3rd pairing guy.

Eckholm is the obvious, but if you add him, you expose Grzelcyk to Seattle. He is on a nice deal too. As it stands now, they will lose Zboril or Lauzon.

They also have Clifton who also a good depth guy and can really impress in short spans.

My money is on Eckholm by TDL, and B's side deal with Seattle to take Zboril over Grizz.

I didn’t fill in the lineups as I was thinking more roster moves than line up ones.
I don’t know that Sweeney makes a move for D only because he never has (except for JM Liles) and they are already elite in goal prevention. Personally, I have been all about getting a top 4 LD since they got pushed around in the TB series last summer. However, it’s never been Donny’s style.
In a perfect world DeBrusk, Coyle, Krecji, and Smith start producing (I’m not putting any confidence in getting anything out of Kase) and they don’t need to do anything.
Thinking as a GM though, if they don’t make a move and lose in the playoffs because they can’t score then that comes right back to Sweeney. You can always pass a failed trade off as at least you tried (think Kase or Rick Nash).

Yeah, I don't know what it would cost though.
2018 - No first rd pick
2019 - 30th
2020 - none
2021 - none

Assuming 2021 is included for Eckholm. Also Vaakaninen (their 2017 1st)

Grzelcyk is worth a late 1st to Seattle. Not sure the Bruins want to part with a 2nd and Zboril/Lauzon - it would probably cost more.

You trade 2021 1st and Vaak that would be Beecher from 5 years worth. That's a recipe for disaster in a couple years.

No. 23:47. Have depth that has held up so far through injuries . Could use another top 2 like every other team.
