I Feel like Carolina and Arizona get enough heat in this either. The Bruins offered the three picks for Hanafin @ 3 - AZ Declined and pick Strome.

Carolina then Traded Hanafin for Hamilton who was traded for one of the three picks 15 - Senyshyn ( & 2 2nd's - JFK & Lauzon). I have to assume the Bruins made a push for Carolina's pick too.

That would have killed me more. The Bruins would have selected Hanafin @ 3 and left Marner sitting there to skate circles around Chara for the last 4 years.

Chabot likely would have been used as trade bait playing behind Chara, Krug. With an all offense no defense guy in Krug on the left side they did not want another in Chabot. They took the shutdown guy instead. I did not like it but it was not crazy.

Boston was not drafting a center with those picks with Bergey and DK in their prime and locked in their top 6 roles for years.

Only pick that was way off base was Senyshyn. Should have been Boesser.

Yeah, Connor isn't THAT much better than DeBrusk. I'm convinced that if you took away Scheifele and Wheeler, replaced them with Krejci and Kuhlman/Kase/all the guys they've tried at 2RW the past few years, and asked Connor to actually commit to playing defense, he would be a 35-point player. Vice versa if DeBrusk got set up by Scheif and Wheeler and was told to just go out and score goals then he would probably put up 40

Not anymore, but we also haven't played nearly a 25% of our season against BuffaLOL. In fact we've played exactly 0% of our season against BeffaLOL. Wow looking at the schedule the NYI are 2-4-4 against WSH/PIT/PHI this year. I'll give you that your 4-0 vs Boston, but outside of the 7-2 game each game could have gone the either way.

Take out every player signed, drafted or traded for after those 3 picks because it's unknown if they still end up with Boston. Its also an unknown if all those players develop the same in Boston. Thats why these hindsight 20/20 ACGM's are pointless.

You think it is close in those three games but the difference is very apparent your defense has taken a hit from last year by losing Krug and Chara. Your goaltending is weaker than ours. The isles can match your offensive with depth down the middle. The Isles are very comfortable playing one goal games (they are like a snake that slowly kills their opponent). They are designed that way ever since Trotz got to the team. So I would be concerned if I was you if the Bruins meet the Isles in the first round. The only team in the East that can be Isles are the Lightning and that's a fact. But Good Luck in the First Round.
