TBH, if Buffalo is trading Jack, I only want picks, prospects and young NHL players.
I would remove Rakell, and (Zegras wrong player) Manson (this is who I wanted to take out) from the deal as both of their contracts expire next year.
While they are both really good players, I do not think they will want to sign in Buffalo.
Take out Dostal as Buffalo has a couple of young defensemen.
Add Henrique (to balance the salary), Zegras, Drysdale, 2022 1st and 2023 1st should do the trick.
Buffalo builds for the future and Anaheim gets a great center man.
Earlier in the season, most people were writing off Henrique, I think that has changed.

Now you guys are seeing the unreasonable amount they want for Eichel. Same crap they’ve done to us for weeks. Trade your entire team for Eichel who might get you to the playoffs, but not likely.

I never want to give a knee jerk reply.
That is less than what I suggested but it is actually in a way better.
IMO Comtois has proven himself to be an NHL producer (NHL career 67 games 16 goals 21 assists) something neither Zegras nor Drysdale have done.
While you are reducing one of the firsts to a second, it is still a draft pick and not a prospect or a roster player with a contract that is about to expire.
I think you have proposed an excellent alternative and fills the needs of the Sabres better than the one proposed in this post.

I truly believe that as fans we cannot expect the house to come back in an Eichel trade. We have never really seen that in a trade before. Correct me if I’m wrong, if that’s the case with a player like Eichel.

I love Zegras, Comtois is a perfect middle 6, a top 10 pick essentially, and a high 2nd. And getting a center in Henrique that would be a stop gate til cozens/Zegras is truly ready for top C

Really any trade to the Ducks I’d want Zegras and a first, don’t really care what comes after that. Bc at the end of the day Eichel is great, but I’m willing to bank that the later years of his career isn’t as good and I’d take zegras at age 24 at that point.
